ACS Wins Healthcare Solutions Contract with Presbyterian Healthcare Services

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DALLAS, TEXAS:  May 8, 2006 –Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (ACS), a premier provider of business process outsourcing and information technology solutions, announced today that it has been awarded a healthcare solutions contract with Presbyterian Healthcare Services. The Albuquerque-based not-for-profit organization provides healthcare services throughout New Mexico.

Under the terms of the three-year contract, ACS will implement its proprietary MIDAS+ DataVision technology across the entire Presbyterian Healthcare Services system. MIDAS+ provides a set of analytic tools and services that enable robust data analysis across more than 3,500 metrics and is designed to be used by chief medical officers and other clinical and administrative professionals. The system includes Web-based access to one of the nation's largest concurrent comparative databases and a unique application, SmartReport™, which identifies and prioritizes measures outside of an expected range as opportunities for improvement.

Since ACS’ MIDAS+ solution was introduced three years ago, it has been used by more than 125 hospitals nationwide to drive improvements and cost efficiencies in patient care, reduce risk, identify and compare performance to industry best practices, and achieve quality measurement compliance standards.

“In the pursuit of clinical excellence, Presbyterian Healthcare Services recognized the need for a standardized clinical quality database that would provide us with comparative data, real-time reporting, end-user access, and healthcare system applications,” said Beth Shields, R.N., Manager, Clinical Project Support for Presbyterian Healthcare Services. “DataVision provides us with those key elements: a strong comparative database supporting evidence- based practice and public reporting, real-time information that enhances internal process improvement, end-user access that allows for strong ownership of data to the clinical level, and a product that adapts to our healthcare system’s design needs. Using DataVision as one of our tools, Presbyterian hopes to standardize quality measurement throughout our healthcare system, and empower clinical leaders to easily access key data elements for evidence-based practice and process management.”

“We are thrilled to be partnering with this outstanding healthcare organization as it strives toward increased clinical quality and efficiency,” said Charles O. Bracken, Managing Director of ACS Healthcare Solutions. “Our extensive knowledge and capabilities in healthcare, combined with integrated, healthcare-dedicated tools and services, is enabling ACS’ healthcare clients to achieve transformational improvements in patient care, safety, and satisfaction -- with information technology-enabled cost-effectiveness and widespread ease-of-use.”

Long a major player in the commercial healthcare industry, ACS has progressively strengthened and expanded its healthcare solutions business by pioneering innovative and customized solutions for healthcare providers. ACS delivers healthcare-specific IT outsourcing, consulting, revenue solutions, and analytic systems to clients that include hospitals and health systems, integrated delivery networks, and other providers, as well as technology firms, state and federal government agencies.
