Our NetLinc Outsourcing team, located in Cheshire, Connecticut, is a network operations center for our clients nationwide. Our state-of-the-art infrastructure provides our colleagues with the capability to remotely monitor and administer our clients' complex network operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

The position for Network Engineer for network monitoring will be stationed at NetLinc in the Cheshire location. This is a first shift position (8AM-5PM). No relocation assistance is available for this opportunity, thus candidates local to the Cheshire area will be given priority consideration. This is a non-travel position.

The Network Engineers assist our Level II Analysts with problems calls and escalation of network-related issues as well as responding to all network alarms, triaging network outages and working with on-site engineers to resolve problems. This position will also have the following responsibilities:

• Acquire, test then deploy any patches or updates to the Network Monitoring tools in house and on all client sites.
• Acquire, test then deploy any patches or updates to the network infrastructure on all client sites.
• Generation of monthly network reports and developing additional reporting when requested by on-site or NetLinc staff.
• Proactively manage potential security issues / vulnerabilities and alert internal and onsite staff
• Acquire, test then deploy any patches or updates to the anti-virus tools in the NetLinc and on all client sites.
• Perform network planning and design in accordance with our standards and policies.

Qualifications

Successful applicants will have at least 5 years of experience in network engineering and possess the following qualifications:

1. Current CCNA 2.0  is required
2. Solid professional knowledge of CISCO products; experience Nortel equipment is a plus
3. 4+ years experience in server management
4. Strong experience with HP Openview Network Node Manager is required
5. Experience in creating network documentation
6. Expert knowledge of  network procedures
7. Proven experience with resolution of server and network problems
8. Expert knowledge of Network Management Tools (NNM, CIM, CWSI etc...)
9. Experience with Microsoft Exchange
10. Experience with Microsoft Visio
11. Windows Servers and Active Directory experience
12. Novell Netware and NDS experience
13. Working experience with MS-Office suite
14. Experience with Microsoft IIS
15. Customer focused
